Surprisingly enjoyable, given that I often find this sort of narrative uninteresting. I think I liked it because there is a thread of existential angst running through it. Narrator emigrates to Canada, ostensibly to earn money to help his family back home, and becomes obsessed with obtaining the trappings of Canadian life, so obsessed that he doesn't care if he actually enjoys them, or life, or maintains his obligations to his family.

Recommended.

This story didn't do much for me. Kinda about an immigrant from Barbados in Canada who gets overly focused on creating a particular persona and loses his self.
