Luna uses her environment, people, actions, and emotions to render poems that delve into beauty and trauma, darkness and light, earth, trees, sky, and space to tell of experiences with mental health, violation, and ultimate healing.
These poems link reader and subject with a weighted connection, and even when the realities of dissent, bigotry, mistreatment, incarceration are painful to read, as we progress through the collection, we find portions of hope and light that coalesce in the end to highlight the awe we can feel about existence even in the face of trials.
