Did not live up to my expectations after seeing the rave reviews I have seen online
It was slow to start and took me a while to get into it.
The main sticking point for me was the main character, Lowen, she was so easily lead and didn't even get to fight Jeremy's advances. She doesn't even really question his behaviour which is surprising since she "writes suspense" stories.
There wasn't really enough depth for me I want to know more about Jeremy and the before.
I did however fine the idea of the story interesting and the why the twist was delivered was good

oh my god this was a PHENOMENAL BOOK!!
i’ve been waiting to get a copy of this book from the library for months and when i finally did, i was confused. i actually thought this was going to be a different book, “code name verity” by elizabeth e. wein, a historical fiction novel - lol
i’m very happy i got this book instead.
literal perfect ending. perfect story. excellent, excellent, excellent.
i would HIGHLY recommend this.

this book is dark, definitely don’t read it if you can’t do gore or horror!! i hate the affair but the plot twist at the end made me question everything. the wife made me so mad.
