This book kicks off a new series and boy does it start off with a bang. I've already fallen in love with this small town and eagerly await until we can return. I loved Blair and Griffin. Their banter is one of my favorite parts of the book. They had me so invested in their journey. This book has so much heart and feels. Be prepared to read for hours with this one because once you start you are not going to want to put it down. I truly loved everyone in this town. It's quite the cast of characters. One thing that I loved about Griffin is he loves baseball. That stands out to me because I'm a baseball nut. Plus his foster a kitten, be still my heart. I also loved Griffin because he has a hard exterior, but he has a gooey center when it comes to Blair. Blair has guts to start over from scratch, but she has the determination and kindness to achieve her goal. I loved how the town opened their arms to her. This is a must read!
This bitch Melanie Harlow sent me chapters while she was writing this and then abruptly stopped, and I had to buy the book to read the ending! What kind of friend is she? :D Luckily, I love her and was willing to sacrifice. Worth it, too! Melanie writes damn satisfying books! They're like pajamas for the soul. This romance was unbelievably conventional (small town setting, he’s a gruff mechanic, she’s a sweet and cheerful ex-debutante who wants to become a baker, they meet when her car breaks down and she faints in front of him), but something about it was SO good!
I really liked the parts where they were crushing on each other, it gave that kicking my feet feeling. There was also a bit of kink which wasn’t too out of character (some role-play but they weren’t super serious about it).
Some points taken off for the third act conflict and ending, which felt a bit rushed, but overall I really enjoyed this one.

I liked it, i enjoyed it. The characters were likeable. The spice was definitely there. The book was overall good, could it have been better? Yes.
I wish Griffin would have done more groveling. I do appreciate Blair putting her dreams first and Griffin being supportive and encouraging her though. The ending was rushed and basically summarized. But nonetheless it was a good book.

Blair and Griffin - a princess running away from an unwanted life, and a mechanic wanting to save his shop…. Strangers with seemingly nothing in common, brought together by the old promise of an apple pie, and a dress harboring hopes and dreams.
A lovely fairytale made for starting a series. Read this one the last & regretting it.
