This short, clever and enthralling graphic novel is one of the most emotionally-charged pieces of art I have ever come across. While I was fully aware of how talented Jeff Lemire is, I never really realized he could evoke such deep, strong feelings. The ambiance of the novel is very uniquely strange, unequivocally beguiling. The plot is gripping, and the characters realistic. A masterpiece. Oh, and that ending... a dagger to the heart.

I have such a soft spot for sad graphic novels. Especially ones that are drawn in a unique style.

Since when did graphic novels come with such grown up feelings? Actually I knew that, at least with Lemire's work. I loved Essex county and sweet tooth. Though this one was a little more woo, I liked it too.

I expected color based on the cover but grayscale sort of fit. I liked it well enough.
