The Jewels Cafe series is exactly what I need right now. The stories are not too long, not too heavy, not too deep (in the literary sense of the word at least) and not too complicated. I can forget the outside world and all its problems for a short moment. It's like a holiday to a nice and far away place without having to leave my house #readathome

And this book was none different! I really loved Amethyst as a character. She was snarky, although she knew when to hold back and when she had crossed a line. She stood up for herself, even though she knew there would be consequences, and once she understood that her mates were her mates she wasn't looking for excuses but did what felt right too. She is the kind of girl to take matters into her own hand, after they haven't been for a long time. It was amusing and inspiring.

I have to admit that I don't get the feeling we get to know her guys very well. Aiden is the one who at least gets a little bit of background, but the rest feels a little forgotten somehow. I totally would have loved to learn more about them, get to know them a little better. I love the mating bond, but I wish we could also see more of them bonding on a more personal level. However, I did enjoy how they cared about Amethyst and loved her so much.

And last but not least there is the plot. The plot is really in charge of this book and there is a lot happening. Compared to other books in this series it's plot heavy with a lot of action and twists and turns. I have to admit that I'm not entirely sure if the mythology makes much sense, but at least the characters admit that something weird has happened and that they don't understand it either, so I can totally forgive that.

Like all the other book in this interconnected series it was a really nice and soothing read and a welcome escape from reality.

Amethyst is sassy and full of fire and it's impossible not to like her. Her men are all hot and sweet. Really enjoyed this read.

Seriously a good book! I enjoy CY’s writing she’s clear on what she means and has good details through the book. No questions are left unanswered and the main characters has a backbone plus funny. All a win win win.

Jewels Cafe book 7

Amethyst is on the run from her jersey of an ex boyfriend. She is one of the best hexes out there, which is evident in the her she put on her ex after he cheated on her & hit her.

She is on her way back home to Silver Springs. She left home years ago, and doesn't really want to go back but has no choice. What will be waiting on her when she gets back home?
