This book, you guys... I think I'm crying. I did not expect that cliffhanger but it goes to show that Katalina is a strong woman. She will fight for her place in a world dominated by men. She is willing to sacrifice herself to the "enemy" to get her place with a family. Katalina has gone through so much since her father got sick and passed away.

Rome is a whole other story. His whole life he's been trained to protect the family - his cousin as he takes on the role of the boss. Rome, as Katalina, feels like he has no place in the world. Perhaps that's why they clicked so easily since meeting each other for the first time.

Katalina is his home - his Cleopatra.

As he himself strives to be what she needs in a man - her home. Her puzzle piece.

2.5 ⭐️ for the first time in awhile i struggled to figure out what i wanted to rate this book. while i enjoyed it there was also so much that i didn’t like about it. though i will say that i absolutely loved the authors writing and that maybe this particular book just wasn’t for me. i felt like there was so much going on at once yet nothing happening at all. not to mention the entirety of rome and katalina’s relationship was very back and forth and then one sided with rome being the one who was seemingly interested in her. while it was obvious katalina was into him it was like she did everything to resist those urges. the plot twist and the ending was also very abrupt, something that i absolutely was not expecting and to be honest didn’t really like. katalina is by no means one of my favorite wmcs. i honestly just found her to be annoying. she was also very hard headed and literally never listened to anyone. and while i didn’t like her my heart hurts for her and all of what she’s been through. though the nicknames all of the guys in this book had for her were so cute. but i did love rome!!! he was it. he was so charming and perfect. had me giggling and kicking my feet fr!!! i will be reading the second book in hopes of it being satisfying. i am interested to see what is in store for rome and katalina.

Katalina drew me in but Rome made me stay. I need the next book because these two have left a hole in my heart that only they can fill. There are so many beautiful quotes in their story...heck their story is one big beautiful quote.

I just need more. And I need it now.

Genuinely do not understand how this is the same author as Corrupted Chaos.  Everything is hard to follow I constantly was rereading to see where I missed the info but I didn’t it just pops in and you’re expected to get it.  Constantly random people talking and you have no idea who is saying it or wtf they’re talking ab but you’re expected to know

The faux love triangle was dating after half way through and I never got to a point where the chemistry felt shown instead of told
