I really got into this the first book in this trilogy. I could not wait to wait to read book two. I instantly put the second book on my list to read. I still have not read it yet but I am not one of those types that has to always read books in chronological order. Maybe if I had read book two it might have changed my perception of this book. Although, I don't think it would help that much. I was disappointed in this book. It felt like there was aa lot of talk but not a lot of action. Not until the last third of the story. Kitty did not seem like the stronger leader I was seeing emerge from the first book. Also, I found Knox to be annoying, so I was not a fan that much of the love interest. Therefore, you could say I was indifferent to the ending of this book and trilogy. After reading this book and several others by this author I have to say that I have a hit and miss relationship with books written by this author. I am still awaiting for that series that I can become a fan of as I do think this author could strike my fancy.

I can honestly say that I really did enjoy jumping back into Kitty's world, but unlike the other books this one fell short for me. Maybe I am getting to be a little too harsh on the third installments of novels but I feel that the authors continually try to wrap things up in a neat bow without any regards to story flow.

In The Queen, we know as the reader that Kitty is going to defeat Victor Merser and make America better. How she manages to accomplish this is what we read for. Aimee Carter let us down. How is it that yes her first assassination attempt failed but that somehow this impenetrable man is ultimately defeated in a knife fight? Especially when he is twice the size and strength of Kitty? And how convenient that at the beginning of the novel is the only time that someone has noticed that Knox has feelings for her? Or that both Benjy and Lila's characters are so one dimensional that the audience was relieved when they exited the story?

It is getting to the point that with 20 more pages of writing we would have a had a smooth and BELIEVABLE conclusion to this trilogy. So she ends up int he woods reunited with her mother. Ok, I can believe that. But having a perfect relationship with your ex who read to you and having the new guy show up at your door? Now this is turning into a Nicholas Sparks novel.

kitaba puanım ise 5 değil tüm galaksideki yıldızlar <3

i'm pretty satisfied with that as an ending to the series, i mean it got better towards the end and i'm glad that
Spoilerkitty and knox's relationship was like slow, and it wasn't suddenly like oh yes i love you but kind of a slow build up throughout the novel.

edit 13/10/18: on reading all three books consecutively i'm upping my rating from a 4 to 5. i forgot just how great an ending this book was to the series. i also actually really like kitty, like okay sometimes she makes some bad decisions but in the heat of the moment i see why she does. i think by this point in the series she was a lot more mature than she was at the beginning and i could tell after i read all three books in a day (when i was meant to be studying) this series has some deeper thinking points, about people's motivations and how different they are. ngl i would totally, self-indulgently, read a novella about kitty and knox just being happy together after all they've been through. i love their banter but also that little bit we got at the end of them just realising how much they truly mean to each other (though it couldn't have hurt for it be a bit more fluffy for us could it :') ) i'm actually surprised how few people have read this series?
