ok most cohesive story and best illustration of any of the volumes in the series. enjoyed this tale and hope at some point they do one on each of the children of the umbrella academy.

The Umbrella Academy universe is a weird place. And this volume is further proof of that. Deeply weird, but a great deal of internal consistency that helps to hold this odd story together.

I love the Umbrella Academy, and this was a fun side adventure following Klaus as an eighteen year old whose been kicked out and finds his way to Hollywood. Lots of fun with a gangster monkey vampire, an aging actress and the space between heaven and hell. It carries some of that same humour as the main series and I love being immersed in the universe.
The only thing missing is Gabriel Ba's illustrations, however the colourings are similar and I enjoyed looking at INJ Culbard's take on the universe. Nate Piekos also does great on lettering.

A fascinating character study on my favorite member of the Umbrella Academy! Also I’d recommend getting the hardcover edition; this is what I read and it came with an exclusive short story that I very much enjoyed as well!
