i struggled a bit with this one. i didn't connect as much emotionally as i did with this arc in podcast form. i also had some trouble deciphering some of the panels, partly due to the art style and partly due to the placement of word bubbles. i don't think i'll ever dislike an installment of this series, though.

My copy arrived early! It covers "The Eleventh Hour" arc with the sorts of changes we've come to expect. A few events from the podcast are reordered or tweaked to read better in a visual medium.
The drawings are expressive and easy to follow. Some moments don't have the same impact as they did in the podcast and it does seem that giving it a splash page now and again would help sell the impact of certain scenes. Overall, though, it's a fantastic addition to my collection and I'm happy it's finally here!

The Eleventh Hour is, without question, my favorite arc of The Adventure Zone. When I want to relisten to the podcast, this is where I am always most eager to get.
So expectations for this story where high, to say the least.
And you know what? This book meets, and in some places exceeds, my expectations.
This is a beautiful, heartbreaking installment. Everything from meeting Roswell and Ren to the reveal of everyone’s pasts - I loved it all.
I’m a little sad to see this one complete, because I know what’s coming, and I know our boys are in for some heartache, but I’m excited to see how they handle the last few arcs, where things REALLY pop off.
So expectations for this story where high, to say the least.
