Liked this even better than "Smile". Maybe because I care more about family dynamics than school drama, but *shrug*

Recommended to fans of Smile, those who like stories about siblings and roadtrips, and, of course, to graphic novel devotees.
hopeful inspiring lighthearted fast-paced

I love the cute and colorful illustrations, especially the facial expressions. They crack me up!

- Raina begging for a little sister is my daughter right now. I feel for those parents.

- I liked all the flashbacks, and I liked how the pages were a little yellowed so it had this older feeling.

- Raina and Amara's relationship reminds me a lot of me and my little sister. I can relate to a lot in this book.

- I love the walkman! I used to listen to my CD player all the time to pass time and drown out other noise as well.

- I love how realistic yet hilarious this story is. I think a lot of sisters will enjoy this graphic novel.

Great book that does a great job showing sibling dynamics. My 7yo loved it. I would love to see the panel about spirit animals removed.

I GET THE HYPE. I had the pleasure of briefly meeting Raina Telgemeier at the National Book Festival, so I knew I had to get my hands on more of her books. Ironically,I read Smile previously in my dentist's office as I waited for my sister to finish her appointment. Sisters really captured the relationship between my own sister and I, as we also have a large age gap. And while we get along better now that we're both (briefly) in our 20's, I couldn't help but laugh at many of the parts in the book. I wish I had this book when I was younger!

Loved this prequel to the book Smile by Raina Telgemeler. Very good.

A story about relationships that just don't work the way you want them to.

The themes don't resolve themselves as thoroughly as I would like, but that's sometimes how autobiographical writing goes. A solid graphic novel for middle and high school.

Anyone with s sister/ sibling can relate. Love her books!

I read this is September and just realized I never added it to goodreads. love this author! her books are perfect on so many levels

Loved this one! Longest car ride EVER! Makes me miss my sister even more…nothing like a sisterly bond, even though you may fight, argue, taunt and tease each other, at the end of the day, your siblings and each other’s best friend.
