I took the opportunity to read this book that my niece had read. It is a nice little story, quite funny at times.

adventurous lighthearted fast-paced

It got annoying after a while in how scared Raina was of snakes. Other than that, I like the flashes to the past and bridging the present with the past.

(re-read!) i just pulled this book off my bookshelf and i’m so glad i did. i use to read this book over and over! i love my sister and i’m so happy for her 🥺! i also got this book on my birthday in 2015 😭

I had always wanted a sister when I was little. I have two older brothers who are 6 and 4 years older than me and that made me the annoying little sister. They had to share a room and fought a lot so I have a feeling that would have happened to me if I had a sister. And going on a trip? I wish we had a big roomy van to travel in, like Raina and her family. We had a two-door car and the whole "he/she is touching me" thing went on, fighting about who got a window seat and who had to sit on the hump part of the back seat, but this was a long time ago and there weren't laws about using the seat belts and sometimes I got to sit in the front seat with my parents. So I completely get Raina having to deal with her sister and brother in a 2 bedroom apartment. (Once my brothers hit the teenage years, my parents were able to put an upstairs onto our house and my brothers got to have their own rooms. Then we kids played musical rooms)

I loved this graphic novel and just requested Smile from the library.

Cute and fun read

I found both of the graphic novels delightful. I can't wait to get my students to read them.
