A story that doesn’t pull any punches. It’s just a short novella, but you love & hate Marianne. And I really related to Marianne’s decision to cut off communication with one of her family members.

Quick Thoughts: This was fun and while Carl and Marianne had some moments that made me go "OH MY GOSH JUST TALK"--they were a fun couple. Had the humor, romance, and moments we love in Molly Harper books.

I would have enjoyed a full-length novel with these characters. The set-up was good but the end felt a little rushed, everything was resolved too quickly.

Semi predictable plot, but isn't that what we expect from this genre? I listened to the audiobook. Narration was great. Finished it in two sittings

LOVED IT! After listening to the first book in the series, SWEET TEA AND SYMPATHY and meeting Carl and Marianne, I just HAD to listen to the prequel! It did not disappoint!
