This got me out of my reading slump ngl. It’s well-paced and has very likable characters. It’s a good series to get into, especially if you like strong FLs and romance fantasy.

The princess of a desert kingdom is chosen by her father from amongst twenty of her sisters to wed the King of a neighboring kingdom as part of an alliance. She infiltrates her new home as a spy for her father and meanwhile falls in love with her new husband.

The Bridge Kingdom was a great mood read for me. I won’t say it’s the best piece of fiction I’ve ever read - the FMC Lara wasn’t particularly likable, and most of the plot points were pretty predictable.

It was a slow burn romance that gave a lot of time for world building that I appreciated. The main couple felt like they didn’t spend a ton of time together, so I’m interested in the second book to see their relationship develop further.

I absolutely loved this book. I found the characters compelling and the plot was full of fantastic twists. I also loved the slow burn in this, how they slowly found a way together. Cannot wait to read the next one.

SO GOOD

i loved the world, we rarely see fantasy set in the equivalent of the caribbean and i simply adored it! the author did an amazing job transporting us into that environment. it was magical.

the idea of a bridge kingdom was interesting and well executed (although some elements were confusing at times). I was so invested in the plot about political power, betrayals, love, (blind) loyalty, and the price of power.

the characters were badass. aren and lara were impossible not to love. their backgrounds were well detailed and their motives were clear. their relationship is well developed, i liked how good they were independently but also how they would die for each other.
