Wow. I’d read a couple of Colleen Hoover books before that I wasn’t into, so I wasn’t expecting much when I started this, but it blew me away. I was hooked from the beginning and loved all of the characters. The plot twists had me genuinely shocked and I loved them.

I really loved the scene
from the 5th (?) November 9 outside of the nightclub where Ben, Glenn, and Amber all fight Theodore for Fallon. Honestly, the whole nightclub chapter was amazing.

The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I didn’t like the plot line about
Ben and Jordyn dating. It felt very weird and uncharacteristic of them both (plus, Ben called her his sister in the chapter right before- I get that he didn’t mean literally, but still it was strange). It was also odd that Ben was unable to understand why Fallon left him, considering she explained herself pretty well. It felt like he had ignored everything she said when he kept saying she left him and didn’t love him. All in all though, it wasn’t a super long part of the book thankfully so I got over it.

Ok. Here’s the deal. I can’t give this five stars and here’s why. The plot was good but I just don’t vibe with insta-love mainly only in this case. If they treated this relationship as a normal LDR then I would absolutely love and be able to relate to it more. I feel that because the author choose to make them have zero contact made it harder for me to understand how they could  “love” each other. It seemed more like physical need/ lust then love. They only spent like a couple of day (not even full) together so they really still don’t know each other. They did not express enough even in the dialogue to know each other. The reason why I believe this is personally I experienced insta love in real life with my partner. That being said we are 6”% long distance now but at the beginning we talked for awhile before anything physical happened like months of dating and we talk everyday as much as possible so I think the issue with this book is it’s too Wattpad like and not realistic. You can’t fall in love with an image you made up. They didn’t really get to know each other on a comfort and deeper level granted they spent less than a day every year mostly talking only about Fallon. Now I rated 4 because of the LDR feeling and it was fractionally relatable not to mention I did like it and I was rooting for them but I just can’t get passed that fact. I loved the writing and the deeper lessons on seeking help with mental illness as well as the inclusion of the arts. But that one plot point I just can’t get over so I have to take it down a star.
