I struggled to read this book. It just wasn’t for me, as I know so many people rate it highly.

I wanted to put an iconic quote here, but there's too many moments in this book where the exact wording is just so perfect, like a little puzzle piece, best appreciated as part of a whole.
Anyway, this book has some of my favorite characters I've ever read. Most authors can pull off a few richly detailed characters, but Ross gives us sooo many. I can't think of a single one-note side character; even they have shades. Also, her language, the way she describes things, creates a world almost hyper-saturated with color, but not in a tacky way. It's just that the world is so alive and the characters live in it so fully. I don't know. I loved this book so much.
