This has been a fun series. I enjoyed all three of the sisters. Loved Leonie bringing Gladys out of her shell; the transformation was great to read.

A perfectly nice historical romance during a week when I did not have a lot of emotional or intellectual energy to give. I wish the author had developed the relationship better, and the hero could have used some dimension, but the ongoing references to the godawful poetry that was very of the moment (including excerpts from some really terrible poems from magazines of the era) were unique and super entertaining. Nothing out of the historical romance norm, but really rather lovely overall.

"The perfect corset should invite its undoing . . ."

Uh. The heroine is an expert in corsets? Come on, I was destined to love this book.

Solid.

Maybe favorite pairing of the two? Interesting to see how the two prior marriages have effected Maison Noirot and the pain that Leonie feels as her sisters are forced to step away from the business. I think Simon was a great match for her - they each added a little fun and levity to each other's lives while not totally drifting into fantasy land.

And now I'm excited to read Clara's book - hope it isn't delayed in publication!

I didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as the first two in the series. Leonie was not an interesting character, and the (sometimes paragraph-by-paragraph) POV switches were distracting.

Loved it.

unfortunately leonies book proved to be the worst one (

The starchiest hero with his feet on the ground. A practical heroine with an eye for business. Neither of them has time for a dalliance let alone a romance but life keeps throwing them together. Leonie and Simon are so lovely together and I am such a sucker for Loretta’s specific brand of competent himbos. This series is so FUNNY on top of being smart and sexy. No one does it like her.

Meh. I remember liking the first two books a lot, but this one just never sparked for me.
