I was not expecting to devour this book the way that I did. There isn't a lot that seems to capture my attention now a days when it comes to reading, but this book delivers.

Had a chance to meet and talk to the author about her series and the way she sold it had me wanting to read the story for myself. There doesn't seem to be a lot of prose out there about the life and times of Drow society, or if there is, it's usually highly political. To see Drow though in a new way, to care for one another truly while still having that savage edge to them, was nice. The dynamic between Khouri and Navidae was nicely done and well built, without being too over the top of the dominant/submissive dynamic. The BDSM was an interesting point for me, but I found there to be the right amount of it with plot, demanding my attention in knowing what happens next.

I can't wait to delve further into this series a d see what adventures await these loveable Drow and I'm eternally grateful I bought the other two books when I had the chance to.
