A standout collection of stories about my favorite member of the Endless; Death. She's the most "human"of the immortal siblings and you can't help falling in love with her. There's a wit and lightness to the embodiment of death that you wouldn't expect but that makes perfect sense. Death isn't cruel or merciful, she simply is who she is and is doing the job given to her. And ya gotta respect that.

Like others who have reviewed this book, I have somewhat fallen out of love with Sandman and stopped reading the series, but I do love Death and this book was a delight to read. You don't have to finish the Sandman series to read it (I didn't). But I would recommend reading the first volume as the first issue in this graphic novel is a reprint of the ending.
