Let me just say that it takes a lot for me to DNF a book. I hate not completing things. However, I’ve learned that I can’t deal with mushy characters portrayed as weak and submissive (& not in the good way). Oliver was just too over the top emotional and after 19 chapters, I couldn’t do it anymore. Jackson was the typical bad boy with a soft spot for Oliver. His character didn’t other me as much.

Please remember that even though this book was not for me, it doesn’t mean you wouldn’t love it ❤️

Riley Nash did it again. I love Riley's style of writing and exploring so many different representations of people with mental health issues, disabilities, etc. I love the different perspectives I get from their books and its really refreshing. Also YAY for Demi representation <3

This book is mainly in 3 parts.
The 1st part of the book... WOW those scenes stuck in the tunnel were so amazing and unique I was sucked in!

2nd part was ok I was really mad at jax for not responding and the money situation and mental health for both of them was super depressing.  Then again I do LOVE a good hurt/comfort.
I really enjoyed olivers hobbies. Olivers knitting and the dungeons and dragons scenes were awesome in the tunnel and outside the tunnel and oliver playing farm simulators.

3rd part seemed like a 3rd act break up for the sake of it I wasnt a fan of that but I did like the HEA at the end but it took them FOREVER to get there but also rushed at the same time. It was my least favorite part of the book.

Personal Opinions: I mainly listen to Audiobooks. I dont really care for the Narrator Liam DiCosimo. I have read so many books narrated by Liam and the voices are always the same and I really dont personally care for it.

- This has one of my LEAST favorite trope. The "I am going to leave to keep you safe".
I would not reread this book but it was for sure worth the read.

Both these characters made me hurt. Oliver's agoraphobia and anxiety was so sad, and the stress he put on himself to just deal made it worse

3.5 stars. This was a neat set up where Jackson and Oliver meet when they're the only 2 survivors of a train that gets caught in a tunnel collapse. The story spans 10 years from their initial meeting, their reunion years after the collapse, and then again when they're finally able to be together. It was a lil too angsty for me personally, but overall this is a good hurt/comfort, it's always been you, single dad, mm romance.
