Intisar Khanani does it again! Wow, what an excellent end to the series! This completely hooked me from the first word to the last.

I won't go into too much detail on this one because it's the last in the series and I don't want to give anything away.
But I loved everything about it. The adventure, the danger, the bravery of the lead characters and the mystery including lots of brilliant twists and turns.
Rae is now a favourite main female character of mine. She is just outstanding. Her bravery, motivation to help others, kindness, humour and general fight in her. I loved her romance story too, it made me SO happy.

I would love if we got another book in this series focusing on Niya, that would be so good! Will keep my fingers crossed for it.

Truly obsessed with Intisar Khanani's writing now!!

In A Darkness at the Door, Rae must escape her captors and must fight a massive child snatching conspiracy in the kingdom. Magic is seamless in a plot that is intricately crafted. The protagonist is clever and gutsy as she navigates dangerous situations, and she is more likeable in this book than the prior in the series. The romance is fun because the love interest is a thief and outlaw who opposes her quest for more formal means of justice. The resolution on this series is fulfilling, for both the main storyline and for tying off loose ends.
