If one has read Bardugo's other short stories, one can easily predict where the story was going. Still, one can't deny that the story was well crafted and enjoyable to read, with some hints of darkness in it and loads of truth about animal hunting.

That was a wonderful fairytale. It has some great twists here and there. I loved the story. :)

I will probably check out the other books of this series as well. I love these little fantasy/folk tales.

I didn't enjoy this as much as I enjoyed The Witch of Duva, but it was still good. I'd give it 3.5 stars but it was good enough to round up.

These short stories by Leigh Bardugo have affected me far more than the first two books in the Grisha trilogy. Isn't that weird?
Beautiful writing as always, perfect length, and a haunting story.
I love how the author tells us so much in a short period of time, giving the reader the right amount of details to become captivated.
Just what I want in a novella.

This story wasn't so much a novella relating to the [b:Shadow and Bone|10194157|Shadow and Bone (The Grisha, #1)|Leigh Bardugo|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1339533695s/10194157.jpg|15093325] series as its a fable. It's the story of the too clever fox who knows the way out of any situation thanks to his wit. I can see where it ties into [b:Siege and Storm|14061955|Siege and Storm (The Grisha, #2)|Leigh Bardugo|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1362166252s/14061955.jpg|19699752], particularly with Sturmhond. Oh the feelings I have. Now I know why Alina gave him that nickname. It was good, worth the read but not really necessary for the overall story.
