I didn't HATE hate it I just really didn't like it and I wouldn't ever recommend it to you. It changes perspectives from third-person-limited-to-clara to first-person-bernhardt but sometimes you can't tell which perspective it's in because Bernhardt is the most boring character in the book. I don't even mean that in a negative way I just mean literally every character is more interesting than him. He is a side character in his own story. In general, the plot is just pretty boring to me. Lots of war but there's not even big stakes to it. Just sort of territories hating each other.

(this isn't related to the review but I accidentally got a blood stain in the book so I guess that blood is royal now lmao)
