Yes, it a trope that we all are familiar with but I did enough the book. I honestly wished Nandy and Trice couldve just been friends because both had growing up to do it but I get it. It was an easy read with some tense moments. Id recommend it for reluctant readers.

It's not my type of book to read willingly, my friend picked it out for me at random. But, for an enemies to lovers trope type book I really liked this one! It didn't solely focus on the trope itself and branches out into other tropes or plotlines that all make sense. I really like the switching of the narrator as well. Parker was also a minor-ish character but he was hot I don't care what anyone says. I rated it 3/5 pretty much because it isn't my typical go to book genre.

This was an okay book. I think it missed on a lot of items. It had the potential to be a great book but it didn’t deliver.

I loved the ending of this book. I was anxious for a happy ending. The title of the book was very appropriate. The constant whiplash of Nandy and Trice’s relationship was so annoying. Definitely a love hate thing and definitely a teenager thing. Lol. This book went through the stages of grief and survivors guilt. I thought it was interesting to see from Trice’s perspective. I love how their relationship started to blossom and Nandy realized that she hadn’t really been her true self and was able to navigate back to that person. I also seen that other reviewers were annoyed by the stereotypes, but let’s be real… STEREOTYPES are a thing and they AREN’T going away. The book pointed them out and yes some things were predictable due the stereotypes but it also generated a happy ending. It was slow at some points and I’m personally not fond of the back and forth to each character each chapter, but that’s a me thing. It was really good but not super amazing so 4 stars it is.

I wanted to DNF several times and wish I had. I REALLY wanted to like this, but it wasn't for me.

Was confused with the personality of the main dude. Girl was annoying and unlikeable. Like the double perspective but not interesting enough in the beginning

Typical rich girl falls for the boy from the wrong side of the tracks. I give it 4 stars because I like the writing style and the substance Trice had. The FMC was somewhat of a pain but I liked their story.

So ..... I came in here planning to give this book 5 gushing stars.

I picked it up from a random pile of books I had purchased for my HS library and inhaled it in a day - didn’t read reviews before. The entire time I was reading I kept thinking of who I wanted to tell to read it and why.

And then I came here to review it. And saw some scathing reviews - all of them about issues I literally I didn’t see in the book. So, since some of those were written by Black reviewers and I always value #ownvoices reviews above all others - I’ll just sit with this now and try to determine why I (white) read the book so differently.
