I thought the beginning go this book was GREAT and I loved the ‘YOU’ female stalker vibes - but then as this book progressed, it became too repetitive and way too much of a slow burn. The martial issues in this book were beyond unrealistic and for me that made it hard to give this book more than 3 stars. This book also was more of a romantic suspense than a thriller. While all issues get resolved, and ending is tied up in a pretty no plot holes bow…this book was just meh.

Good and kept me interested while reading but nothing has really stuck with me since reading it. Great fall time/creepy vibes though.
Thanks to Netgalley and publishers for allowing me an e-arc in exchange for an honest (late) review.

Read ebook. Love this author. While I think this was my least favorite of her books so far, I still enjoyed it and wanted to pick it up and read. The characters were a tiny bit frustrating and I think it was a touch too long, but overall solid read.
I loved this book and could not put it down. If you're looking for a thriller (as many of the reviewers on here seem to have been), you will be disappointed. In my opinion it's not a thriller, it's not the next gone girl. It is more a romance about the one who got away, set in two different timelines 2013 and the present (2022). Another reviewer compared this book to Colleen Hoover, and that is a great analogy. Colleen Hoover's books are mostly romance with some twists much like this book. On a personal note, I found this book relatable because in 2013 I was in my mid 20s and living in NYC much like Molly. I went to many of the same bars and restaurants Molly does in the book. The way the author described NYC in 2013 was so vivid, well done and accurate. It really brought me back to all of those places and 2013.
Read this book if: you like stories about the one that got away, you're a colleen hoover fan, you're a fan of the author (this was as compelling to me as tell me lies), or you were in your early/mid 20s living in NYC in 2013.

Thank you to @stmartinspress @netgalley for the ARC! Can’t Look Away is out on June 14.
It’s taken me over a week to even decide on a star rating for this book. Something about just left me feeling super ambivalent.
The good:
• Easy and fast read
• Molly was an interesting, flawed character
• Definitely a few touching moments
The not-so-good:
• NOT a thriller. NOT a mystery. And these aren’t my own expectations clouding my enjoyment of the book; it’s legit categorized under those genres on Goodreads. And lemme tell you, it was no such thing. There’s certainly some suspense, but it’s way more family/romantic drama than anything else.
• Sabrina was annoying af. Oh no baby, what is you doing??

Never have I read a story that captures its title like Can’t Look Away by Carola Lovering. I couldn’t look away. The love stories between Jake, Molly, Hunter and Sabrina are raw, emotional and intoxicating. The twists and turns of this story made it unpredictable and rooting for different characters. This story is a romantic drama with hints of a thriller. Fans of Colleen Hoover will devour this story. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s press for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Holy hell, what a wild ride.
This book is told in a flip flopping timeline from multiple points of view.
A few chapters in, you realize this is not going to be a stereotypical romance novel.
It's! So! Good!
You fall in love with the characters, you get wrapped up in their drama, their lives, their love, their heartbreak. Lovering wrote this exceptionally well.
There were many times I had to put it down and take some deep breaths because the ANXIETY! the ANTICIPATION!
It was exciting, genuine, creepy, drama-filled, and wonderful.
A few of the plot twists were a bit predictable, but I very much enjoyed this and would recommend!
