DID NOT FINISH: 53%

I got to %50 percent through and realized I didn’t know anything about Jules and so much about Bodhi. And Bodhi got on my nerves. I just didn’t vibe with this book

3.25/5 🌶 (only with Jules)

I can't describe how much I loved this book! I literally devoured it in one sitting.

This book was way darker than  I expected, but that was totally justified.

My heart broke in so many ways with Bodhi's. I love Jules for the fact that he never gave up on him. He was his rock when he needed it most.

The way this story describes depression and other mental health issues was so accurate and relatable.

Maybe I love this book so much because I felt the pain Bodhi felt a little bit extra because I'm also part of the semicolon team.

Well, nevertheless it's a big story with the loveliest characters and so much healing, my heart might burst.

You have to read it!

Read if you like:
✨️ comfort/healing
✨️ age gap
✨️ mental health rep

I fucking loved the insane amount of angst!

I’d say my only minor complaint is I wish Ryan had apologized to Bo for how he acted the morning after they had sex because that was fucked up and it’s never brought up? In fact Bo actually apologizes to him???

But otherwise it was great!

This is, by far, the most emotional and gut-wrenching story of Ashley's. She doesn't hold back when it comes to how these characters feel, process, or what happens to them. Bodhi, my sweet, sweet boy, has had such a hard life. So much is thrown at him and watching him attempt to get through each day, it's heartbreaking. He feels so, so deeply. Everything tugs at his heartstrings and it's too much. He can't process and you just want to reach in, hold him tightly, and let him know it will all be okay. He does what he needs to do to survive. We see him struggle but we see him grow. We see him learn and see the truth that he's been fighting. It's a whirlwind, but it's beautiful. Bring in Jules and his determination and you have something explosive. Jules sees Bodhi for who he is. He sees Bodhi's internal beauty and only wants Bodhi to be able to see himself the way Jules sees him. The way Jules feels about Bodhi is powerful. They're perfect for each other. They bring something to the table for one another, showing each other that they don't have to be alone. That they can get more out of life once they allow themselves to see what's right in front of them.
The struggles they work through are intense but everything is so worth it. It's such a beautiful story. Simply beautiful.
