Man, the fun never ends for this awesome cast of characters. And after listening to the audiobook version of this story, all I can say is "Damnit, Denise!" There were several scenes in this entry in the series which had me rolling. The scorpion people, HAH! The pegasi, loved em! Of course, the story was brought together wonderfully by Jonathan Sleep's awesome narration.

If you've read this far, keep on going as the story has Bevan's classic humor and touch that brought back memories of those D&D games I played as a teenager.

Well done!

It's book 5, if you didn't like the first 4, you're not going to like this one either. It's crude and funny and wrong. If that's your thing then read this, if not then you best skip this one.

I still enjoy all the characters and especially that the wolf is called Butterbean. However, this installment reads like there is a stand-in Cavern Master calling the shots and he doesn't have a firm grasp on the characters or the plot. Therefore, the characters become little more than puking, pooping, screwing, stabbing idiots with an incredibly vague adventure and barely any reason to be on it. Meh. I still love the first couple of books but the spark seems to have fizzled out in a pool of Cooper's piss.

Love these books. I think Robert Bevan does a great job with characterization and he is slowly adding characters to the story. I think this has the best ending yet. I wish he cranked these out quicker. I really can't wait to see what happens and I forget some details between books

This book was hilarious and cringey. The characters are absolutely fucking ridiculous and I'm surprised they are still alive with all the shit they pull. This books series is Murphy's Law at its finest.

If you've read books 1-4 in the series (and you need to in order to have any idea of what's going on) you know what you're in for. It's probably better written than most of the others, with some real character development and stakes involved.

Where it fails a little in comparison to the others is that the party is split up, so it's a lot of separate plot threads instead of a single narrative. This does give us the opportunity to spend some time with some secondary characters, and that's a lot of fun, but by the end it feels like the whole book was spent trying to get the gang back together again. Still a lot of fun, just not quite as good as the others.
