Dnf @ 10%, which is the first 2 chapters. Haven’t read anything by this author before so got thrown into a friend group that was hard to keep track of.
Don’t like this authors writing style. I can’t really explain it well, but it felt like we were getting told the story rather than immersed in it. Lots and lots of descriptions and prose and not enough dialogue and interactions. Choppy flow. The main characters weren’t even in the same country yet at this point, although it was alluded to that they had seen each other at a ballet in the previous book.

I enjoyed this one more than all the others in this series so far, but still a lot of it was problematic enough that I can't really give it any more than 3 stars. The constant repetition tended to get on my nerves because it felt like simple facts about the story were constantly being re-explained every 3 paragraphs. On the other hand I'm glad that this story was much shorter and relatively drama free in comparison to the previous one. I liked that there was more focus on both of them getting out of shitty situations and building something, rather than internal relationship drama. (although there was some of that in there too)
End of rant.

Dasha and Bohdan are exes that didn’t end well, but now they have been pushed together, making those feeling they had when they were together come back.
Dasha isn’t going to let Bohdan break her heart again.
Bohdan doesn’t know if he loves or hates Dasha for what happened but he knows wants to get Dasha away from where she is and safe.
When Dasha finds out her new ‘bodyguard’ is Bohdan one thing she knows is that he would never hurt her the way her husband is, can she trust him to help her get away and can she trust him with her heart again.
