I don’t know why but I liked this, the story, the pace, everything just clicked.
Busiest weekend of the year in Ballina, and Dev answers his door to his cousins The Ferdias with Doll English in tow. Doll is Cillian’s brother. With endorsements from Sally Rooney and Brandon Taylor on the cover, I really expected more. Classically Irish in its faint existentialism and rural backdrop. Ultimately, i think I just wanted more of Nicky and perhaps less of Dev.
