I can readily admit that the shadowhunters has been a fandom/series I have lost interest in these last couple of years. I remember being very excited about Chain of Gold wheb it first came out but now that I have picked up this next book in the trilogy, the excitement has waned. There’s a lot more romance focus in the newer books and though I do love a good romance it sometimes overshadows everything else. I’m sure that shadowhunters fans probably love this latest series, but it’s not really for me. That being said, I might finish the trilogy knowing the last book is also out because at this point I might as well finish it—and though certain aspects are uninteresting to me, I certainly can appreciate the talent it takes to balance so many character arcs. This trilogy specifically has been like reading a tv show then made into a book. For that reason, I’m going to finish this series once I go to the library!
