I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the rest of the series. The only reason I knocked it down is because I found the FMC super annoying at times- she is intelligent but then she keeps making stupid decisions. She says one thing/states her beliefs as the base of her arguments and then is a total hypocrite. I couldn’t understand her motives for doing/saying certain things based on her character’s actions and previously revealed thoughts. That was frustrating. She does get better and now that she is past that I’m looking forward to seeing where she goes.
I am however super in love with Ash/Nyktos.

I didn't have high expectations as I saw so many bad reviews and maybe that's why I was so surprised by how much I liked it

I mean, yeah it is similar to FBAA, yes it takes place in the same world. But her writing is just as enjoyable as all her other books! And this prequel to FBAA has better world building imo. I really liked it and can't wait to read more about this world!

She's just really not a good author. I need to stop doing this to myself.
