3.5 stars. This book was a lot of fun. The characters made me smile, and the mystery kept me guessing. There were multiple reviews that compared it to Harry Potter, which I don't understand at all. But it was a fun, quirky book.

What I enjoyed about this book:
While everyone is busying around, searching for the answer to immortality, preserving some 500-year-old fellowship and its traditions...in the end, what mattered to Gerritszoon was having lived a life with a great friendship
.

Very disappointing. I hoped it would be something like The Storied Life Of A J Fikry but alas it was not. The characters were flat and the MC ,who is a a man in his thirties ,acted like a teenage girl. As for the plot i lost interest in it, i was not entertained.

Loved it! A little fantasy-esk, but not too much, nice characters, interesting story, a real page turner! Highly recommend this!

The plot is unique and the content fresh, but the first person narration doesn't do enough to develop its narrator's character. I liked the bookstore elements more than the big tech elements.
