Hmmm. I still love Ivy and Rafe.
The mystery/crime they had to solve, however, was...not up to par. More of like: what just happened? It happened that way?

I usually find that follows in series are not as good as the first book, but Helen Harper did a great job with this series. Ivy is such a relatable character and not the cookie cutter perfect female that most main characters are usually written to be which makes her story so amazing. The Lazy Girls Guide to Magic is one of my all time favorite series ever.

Star Witch is the second book in Helen Harper’s The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Magic series.
Still confused and missing her ex-partner Raphael Winter, when the Order asks her to travel to the Scottish Highlands with him and spy on her favourite TV show, Enchantment, Ivy jumps at the chance.
This book continued to build on the world of Magic and develop the characters. By the end of this book, Ivy has not only faced up to her emotional attachment to Rafe and Brutus but also developed cracks in her lazy, self-serving mask by intending to sacrifice her own life for the sake of the Order and Rafe.
I particularly loved her reaction to Brutus’ perceived abandonment; Ivy Wilde isn’t very good at containing emotions it seems. The epilogue through Winter’s eyes also helped in developing Brutus’ character beyond that of a familiar that hates his witch.
There are plenty of laugh out loud and aw moments in this instalment and you’ll find it very hard not to continue straight on to the third book after reading the ending. I finished book two and three in the same day.

This series is so addicting. It’s light and fun with an unconventional heroine who I adore! Audio narration is very enjoyable.
Good plot and good characters, developing from the first book. Tempted to start right in on the next in the series

A fun, straight romantic comedy with adventure, magic, a lazy witch and a talking cat with a bad attitude. It's a fast read, it was perfect to cheer up a gloomy mood. The magical systems using runes or herbs was quite interesting, I wish the author had developped this more.
2 stars, much like the first one.
I dunno, there’s something about the ludicrousness of the plot coupled with the fact that Ivy doesn’t ever rage that really just isn’t doing it for me. It’s still readable but I’m not really enjoying myself.
