A clear and necessary overview of the past century in Palestine and how we got to where we are today. From an American's perspective, really helpful in untangling the myths and misinformation I've been taught about Israel and Palestine since childhood.

Very informative but surged to know who was each person as the book covered more years. Gives lots of context to current news regarding the genocide in Palestine. Strong focus on government , wanted more information on grassroots organizations in Palestine and Gaza.

i occasionally got a little lost in the details (not necessarily the author's fault - this book covers 100+ years of history and involves many actors, dates, and turning points) but overall found this a powerful and ultimately chilling read given the current war waged by israel and the us on the people of gaza. history may not repeat itself, but it does rhyme
