95% of the meat of this book is in the last quarter. The beginning meanders aimlessly until we get to the brainstorm session. The 6 working genius model is the project life cycle applied to roles in the workplace and people’s approaches to tasks in general. It is VERY exciting. The beginning could have been edited down to half the size but, hell, then they probably wouldn’t make as much money off of it.

It spends the whole time talking about the meeting where they decided on the 6 geniuses instead of getting into details of application. Kinda feels rambly.

I like the assessment and the information about working geniuses, competencies and frustrations. I just didn't think the story ahead of all the technical info added all that much. Looking forward to putting my new geniuses to work though!

I feel like I shouldn't even really be rating this, since I only read it because of work... my boss had our team do this assessment last year so I already knew my Working Genius (Wonder/Enablement) plus our company book club picked it for our latest read. That being said, the parable/fable part wasn't completely painful to read. A bit cheesy, a bit too God-heavy, but clear and simple in explaining the concepts. It did help me really conceptualize the assessment results better at least, and how it applies in life/work.

This could have been an email.

I get where the author is coming from with having the story but it’s like one of those recipe blogs with 20 pages of intro before they tell me the 4 ingredients I need to make a salad. I could have just read the epilogue.
