Nico makes an unnecessary rape joke. Oscar also falls into the stereotypical mold of Latino drug dealer with no development, in addition to being ‘the bad guy’ because he was a creep to Elena when 99% of the male cast are creeps in general—and much worse than him. I also did not like the way Lori described Oscar’s Colombian accent. Colombians have four different accents, but, regardless, the paisa accent in particular is actually one of the prettiest accents in Latin America (to me), so for Lori to describe his accent with such negative connotations is weird and unnecessary.

This was my first dark-mafia style romance, and I have to say it did not disappoint!! A mix between forbidden romance and enemies-to-lovers, this book was hot and steamy with a splash of pinning between the main character and love interest.

This book was such a roller-coaster, but i loved it. I felt like the book had a balance of descriptions in emotional, action and eventful situations. I found the story in this book was extended into the book The Maddest Obsession, which i enjoyed very much. 
Check content warnings beforehand as this series is very dark and may be sensitive for some readers.

Omg book tok was right this was so good! It was steamy and funny and I basically loved everything about it. I loved the family dynamics, mostly the sister, brother, cousins, and mom and grandma(not the dad). I also really liked Elena as a character. The only thing I wish was more Nico POV’s other then that it was amazing.
