The first book in this series was my introduction to a relatively new trope called “omegaverse”. It's a world where men are either alphas or omegas… but not shifters. In fact, nothing paranormal or supernatural except that omega men can get pregnant and have babies. I found the whole concept to be very interesting. I am already a big fan of this author’s work so I was excited to read this next installment, especially since I already adored Griffin from Eli and Matt’s story.

“I could look and fantasize all day, but truth was, as soon as things got intimate between me and any alpha, the hormone rush became overwhelming and I ran.”

Griff is Eli’s younger brother, and just like Eli, he is an omega. He is also still a virgin having never “succumbed to his omega nature”, as he thinks of it in his head. His very first kiss - with a total schmuck, by the way - Griff could feel his omega side being influenced by the alpha and just wanting to submit, and give it all up. It scared him so much that he's never allowed himself to get close to anyone for fear of being taken advantage of by an alpha while so inundated by his hormones that he can't fight back. His own needs tend to swamp him as well, so his fears are certainly justified.

Griff and Dean are disgustingly adorable together. Seriously. Griff has his fears about physical intimacy and Dean has his own secret fears about his ability to still be a firefighter. Dean is so patient and wonderful with Griff that it brought a smile to my face. Everyone who has ever struggled with their virginity and having sex, should be lucky enough to have a Dean in their life. Now, if Dean can just realize that sharing his own fears with Griff will not have Griff seeing him as weak. Just because he's an alpha doesn't mean that what happened at his previous job shouldn't scare him and make him worry about whether he can still do the job.

This is a very cute installment in the series. If I had to classify the series, I think I would say it's Ann-Katrin Byrde light, as there is some drama but it's an easy read with a very definite happy ever after. This author does a great job with mpreg and I always like that! If you like sweet, loving, fun, and puppies, then you'll feel right at home with this book.

4.5 stars for me. I was so happy to know that Griff was going to get his own story. We met him in the first book of this series, and when this story starts we find him now living on his own after his brother moved out and married his mate. He’s best friends with Dean, his childhood friend who has moved back home, although everyone thinks that they should be more than just friends purely because of their nature.

I loved Dean and Griff. I love that they could actually talk to each other, rather than hide their feelings for each other for like the whole book, and I loved how patient, caring, and supportive Dean was with Griff. I also love that we got more of Eli and his family and kids, and that we got to see more of their parents. Yes, they made a horrible mistake in how they treated Eli years ago, but I’m glad they are all trying to work things out.

This was a great story. I love the whole feel of family and friendship in this between everyone, and how we also dealt with some issues like anxiety, PTSD, and how to manage and cope with that. I do wish that there had been a bit more depth to both Griff's anxiety over sex and Dean's PTSD and recovery, as it seemed to be quickly dealt with.

I definitely recommend starting with the first book since this definitely continues on from that, and if you like non-shifter ABO (which, I know so many people are used to it being werewolves and shifters, but I have read PLENTY of regular human ABO-verse stories in fanfics and e-books) then you will love this series. Ann Katrin-Byrde is one of my favorite authors these days, everything she writes is fantastic!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Definitely worth the wait! Even though I am the most impatient person I know😆. Great writing as usual, with equally great characters.

Reread: This takes some suspension of disbelief like the morning after pill doesn't exist in this universe, among other things. But I remember becoming a friends to lovers fan after reading this

Cute

I liked these two! There’s some family drama, friends becoming more, a baby and a dog. A very sweet read.

So sweet ❤️

Such a sweet story mixed with humor and love. I really like the Oceanport setting and loved this best-friends-to-lovers story! I like Griff and Eli was great (I need to read his story now). This book as a great sense of family. A really sweet read.

What a delightful series this is. These book have the HEA with no cheating or backstabbing or any of the other typically drama most books have. No these books are alpha/omega mpreg worlds that has a lot of family drama, small town gossip and good old fashion in turmoil.

The author has a way of making you connect with her characters, even the secondary characters. I enjoyed the cousin so much that I am going to read that book next.
