I remember reading this series years ago and it just struck me as such a unique story that just pulls you in and keeps you glued to the pages. Having played Magic the Gathering as well when younger and seeing influences of that in the story just made it even more nostalgic. Already on book 2 and enjoying all the nostalgia and reliving the story of Glissa

I'm giving this book three stars, because I remember it fondly in a nostalgic kind of way. However, twelve year old me appears to have focused entirely on the cool metal elf chick because I have absolutely no memory of the rest of the book. I couldn't name another character and I certainly have no idea what happened, although I have a vague sense that it was gruesomely violent. Could be complete shit for all I know, I definitely won't be re-reading and possibly ruining my general goodwill towards the book, but you gotta admit - metal elves, cool concept.
