I gotta say, Wattpad did they thang with this one. This is my second time reading the series and I surprisingly still liked it as much as I did when I first read it. One of the better shifter romance books I’ve read in a while. But let’s get into this review…

I hate Kennedy and will forever hate Kennedy. There is no redemption arc, there is no sympathy, there’s no appeal. She doesn’t even get remotely better with time, even in her letters she was still a complete bitch, even more so actually. I’m glad she didn’t get a redemption arc though, not everyone needs to be forgiven and not everyone magically becomes good. I genuinely hoped she wouldn’t get pregnant so that Rya could get her fair one ons with this woman. I hated that Kennedy did so much shit against Rya and Rya never actually got to get her lick back. Karma’s definitely working her ass off but not enough. Kennedy got to go peacefully, she prepared for the moment. She didn’t get to slowly watch Clayton get ripped away from her or get her ass beat on by the woman she wholeheartedly wishes she could replace atp. She just leaves—as she intended

Whoa

Whoa!!!!

On a whim I grabbed Clayton (beacuse freebie!), never did I expect to be drawn into a world I never want to leave. Never have I been so bummed that I am not a wolf shifter.

Mills creates a world in technicolor with passionate people and vehement emotions. Rage, scream, and break off pieces of yourself...Smile, bask in the glow, and love freely. You will experience all sorts of joy and pain because how can you know the highs without the lows.

Mills gives it to you hard, rough, and without remorse. But she also makes it so real, you never doubt it's existence! Shifter or not.

Overall I love the way that Rachelle Mills takes the werewolf world and turns it into something of her own. I am a huge werewolf lore lover. I like reading werewolf stories and seeing the lore that others come up with. She does an amazing job with that. I can't wait to see what else she has in store for us with the other two books.

I am a huge fan of this series already. I love that she took the rejected mate "cliche" and twisted it to be something new. The mates just don't get to accept the rejection and move on...the bond is still there. I hate that Rya has to go through the pain of not just being rejected but also whipped for attacking the....wolf who is taking her mate. I love the relationship between Dallas and Rya. I love that they have an understanding of what it feels like to lose a mate, but in different ways.

I love that Rya is going to learn how to be a wolf. I know that she left hre pack to become a midwife, but she never really learned to be a wolf. I am so glad Dallas's dad is going to teach her. I also love his nickname, Little Moon. I think that Clinton, Grace, Carson, Caleb, Crane, and Rya may build a good relationship...though I think Cash will never accept Rya as anything other than a weak wolf.

I will say that I am glad the original Luna, Alpha, and Betas were removed from their rein. They clearly had something going on that is not right. I mean the Alpha "forgot" to remove Rya's punishment. I am really glad they were removed. I also think Kennedy should be removed. What she did to poor Kimberly, and then for Kimberly to pretty much blame all the issues on Rya...not okay.

Characters (only rating Rya and Dallas...cause if I don't limit myself I won't be able to post this.)

Rya - Main - 10/10 - Rya has a lot going for her. While she is the cliche of not being able to take care of herself (in wolf form and in a fight), she is willing to learn and try. I love that she is getting a chance to find her happiness.

Dallas - Love interest - 10/10 - I love that Dallas is who he is. He is an Alpha by blood, but a doctor by choice. I know that he did it because of what happened to his mate (which I don't know what happened yet other than she died), but he is doing his best to be able to be better. I love that he is finding a chance at happiness with Rya.

Again she does it! I absolutely LOVED this. I love that Rya and Dallas built their relationship and had a lot of ups and downs. I loved that Rya was able to train with Clinton and became a stronger wolf and woman. She deserved all the training she got, not because she was a mated Luna (first to Clayton then to Dallas), but because she needed it. She learned to shift quickly, then learned to be a real wolf with the wild wolves. I loved that Clinton and Dallas...and well everyone was super proud and excited for her little milestones that she went through. I also loved that Cash and her became close, even with her hate for Kennedy.

Honestly, watching Kennedy fall into a depression because of Cash and the pregnancy hurt a little. I think that it helped Rya a lot to be able to see that and come to realize that it's not really what she wanted to see. I also think that hering Clayton's side of the story also helped her to grow and change. I also love that Rya forgave Kennedy, she didn't have to...I wouldn't have.

I had a strong feeling that they would mate before they marked each other...honestly, I am so glad they did. I hate that Clayton kissed her. I HATE IT! I hated that Dallas left her and she went through all that pain without him. Her learning to stand on her own again was magical. I loved seeing Rya learn from everything. I loved that she went out on her own and explored like she wanted to. And that she went through all the trouble to get the twins milk after Kennedy died. I knew she was prego from the different signs, and all the ummm fun time they had. I am upset she didn't tell anyone for a while. I think that it is amazing that they were able to fix everything and end up happily together.

Characters
Rya - Main - 10/10 - I love that Rya went through so many different changes in this book. She grows and changes, some for the better...some not. I think that Rya had to go through all that to be able to be truly happy.

Dallas - Love interest - 10/10 - Had my ups and downs with him. I loved that he loved Rya and wanted to be her mate...but him leaving her like that....no.

I loved every moment of this!!!! I loved seeing Cash be able to move on. I loved seeing the world through Trea’s eyes and her thoughts. I hate how she got her scars and that she lost her family and mate, but I love that she found cash and the others she is friends with. I loved this book so much.

I did like the letters. It’s gave more insight to Kennedy and her thoughts during the time she was with cash. I hated that she kept repeating that she still loved Clayton and that she would wait for him in the moon. I hated all the letters and loved them at the same time. I hated that she wasn’t able to meet the twins and love cash as she should have.

Characters
Treajure - 10/10 - I loved seeing her perspective and learning more about her. She had a hard life and deserved the happiness she will get from Cash.

Cassius - 10/10 - I hated that he was struggling to let go. But in the end sleeping with Hazel helped him and I love that he was able to let go and move on and be happy.

I really enjoyed seeing Dallas and Rya’s complicated love story and individual journeys.

Cassius and Treajure’s story was a bit overshadowed by Kennedy’s letters. I wish we got more of them.

Get ready for an angsty ride!

The Wildflower Series (Wildflower #1-3) by Rachelle Mills – This was free on Amazon and on kindle unlimited. The plotting isn’t bad, it’s got nice pacing, and the characters are interesting. It would have been 150% more enjoyable if a good editor had given it an overhaul because there were enough confusing moments and errors to wrench me out of the flow of the story. I really did enjoy the series overall! Happy Reading!
Clayton by Rachelle Mills – I promise you will want to punch Clayton in the throat. I think that is the defining characteristic of a rejected mates troupe lol! Several points where it was a bit confusing, but still interesting. Happy Reading!
Dallas by Rachelle Mills – I think Rachelle Mills wants you to have really clear instincts on her characters because I either want to wrap them in bubble wrap or smack them upside the head. There is no middle ground. Happy Reading!
Cassius by Rachelle Mills – The first two books are a duology, and book three just wouldn’t make sense without them. I think this series got better as you went as far as keeping track of the perspective you are in and confusing plot points. Happy Reading!
