What's striking about this book, to my mind at least, is its portrayal of human struggle, or rather the very idea of an author struggling to fit it all in one story. I quite appreciated the opportunity to learn more about Eastern philosophy and I liked the budding ideas about the limits of what language can achieve in terms of communication. I suppose it is the kind of book you might want to revisit whenever you're hit with the kind of Weltschmerz I assume most of us are feeling when looking at the state of the world.
