This book was definitely better than the last two.

The book is written for minor children; people who doesn't care much about the intensity of the characters. That's why the author has put all her work in the story and not in the characters.

And the plot is good; very easy to relate to and very promising. The book surely keeps the promises.

At last, i have to say that i admire the author - she manages to make this book a life lesson, but also a very interesting book. I think everybody could learn from this book, no matter how old you are.

Ce troisième tome est beaucoup plus sombre, plus dense. Une série agréable à lire.

I'm continuing to enjoy this series -- they don't shy away from hard, scary things, and the gradually unfolding mystery remains strong.

Having been quite dissapointed with the second installment of the series I am happy that I found this to be so much better. It is quite an easy read and I look forward to soon be diving into the 3 last books in the series.

So... let me get this straight. The Big Bad... is the teenaged female teens hunger.
Am I the only one who raised their eyebrows quite a lot at this? The way most adults react to Clara's ~unnatural~ hunger which makes her eat THREE SLICES OF BREAD after she's already eaten is a bit peculiar. Sometimes, teenagers are hungry. Sure, they don't try to eat newborn badgers, as a rule, but given its cultural context, this still did not sit right with me.

I was as enchanged by the animals as always and loved that the main characters can see where plot is going as soon as the reader does and use that knowledge competently. I liked the background we get on Chimaera, which humanises and sympathises her, but I would have liked a gentler treatment for her in this children's book.

Her best one yet! It was exciting and unexpected as you travel with Clara and Kahla to find out who the hungry one was... and from this how Claras enemy Kimæra really came to be who she was. Looking forward to reading the next one!
