I mean who doesn't love a good Sherlock Holmes story!
Doyle finally hits his stride with book three, which doesn't have the pacing problems of the first two. He also focuses more on Watson and Holmes than the crimes or villains, realizing perhaps that that's where the real interest lies.

That these stories were written well over a century ago, and are still as fresh and entertaining now, is a testament to the brilliance of Conan Doyle. Of course the more sophisticated modern reader might quickly guess the outcomes, but this takes nothing away from the originality and imagination of the stories. I can’t wait to read more!

This read was a collections of short stories about Sherlock Holmes. They were interesting to try and figure out before Holmes started spewing his magical powers of deduction all over the place. I have to say, I'm not the best at figuring out these older mysteries, but still had fun. 3 out of 5 stars.
