Probably closer to 4 stars but I couldn’t decide on a star rating

And at the start of the first sex scene too. Not gelling with either of these characters, the pacing is so incredibly off, and what started as a cute premise has turned into a book with no purpose or direction and I just really don’t care.

I love Grumpy/Sunshine

Such a cute quick read. Reminds me why I love the grumpy/sunshine trope so much. And who can resist a dog named Dammit?

I absolutely love anything Octavia writes and this book was no different! I love a good grumpy/sunshine trope and this one definitely hits the mark. Harvey, our grumpy bar owner, meets Calliope (Callie), our sunshine girlie. Callie made Harvey put in that work for them to be together after the got into his own head. The angst was DEFINITELY there

“I’ve done my fair share of running in my life. She’s finally given me a reason to stop.”

The Night Cap follows Calliope (Callie) & Harvey. A grumpy bar owner and a sexy, sunshine patron he just can’t get out of his head. Callie was such a fun character. I loved how happy she always was and just went with the flow; Callie also wasn’t a pushover which I was grateful for. She made Harvey work for her, as she should.

The angst in this was FIRE. I felt all of the characters emotions because Octavia’s writing just sucks you in and doesn’t let you go, which I love. I read this book so fast because I just can’t get enough of Octavia’s writing. Harvey & Callie were a blast to read about and I loved seeing them get their well-deserved HEA.

This was a cute and quick read, the characters were a bit lacking but I enjoyed the storyline over all. I’d recommend!
