I loved every thing about this book. The MC's were adorable, the supporting characters were interesting and the storyline was engrossing. I cannot wait to read the second novel!

so on one hand, this is actually well written. it is. the characters are fleshed-out, the descriptions are just detailed enough. it's good. on the other hand, it's so painfully clear this was written by a straight author.

if u took out all the sex scenes, it feels like we'd be left with less than half the book. and what we would still have then? well...... when u start a book bc it's advertised as fake dating, u expect the pining & the actual faking to last for more than the first 30% of the story, don't u? not here!! there was some pining, sure, but brought to life by totally different issues (not wanting to use labels, fear of commitment, etc.)

Book was good. I like the romance. At times it was boring or frustrating, but overall good. I listened to it on audiobook and I felt that it would have benefited from a different narrator because at times it was a bit weird at the sexy times parts.

First, I did have some issues with the way masculinity/femininity and gender roles were talked about. It felt like the characters were saying men were better than women or at least that masculinity as defined by them was better than being feminine as defined by them which makes me a little twitchy. That said, the story was compelling. In turns it was funny and sweet, sexy, and emotionally challenging. The characters were compelling and their motivations felt genuine. I ended up really loving the story over all and I look forward to reading more in the series and more by this author.

THIS WAS SO DELIGHTFUL! A+ would read again. So sad to find out the author only has one other book out so far, but I'm looking forward to reading that one as well!
