I’m not sure if I would’ve picked it up if I had known about the pedophilia beforehand, but I really liked this book. While it is mentioned, the details weren’t explicit so I was able to get through those scenes.

Took me awhile to finish, but it was a good book. The FMC has quite a history of childhood trauma that is explored: abuse, molestation, rape, murder. It is definitely a psychological thriller that focuses on the MC's history and traumas which impact her current situation...being accused of murdering her husband.

I quite enjoyed the process of reading this book. Chapters were a nice length, it was suspenseful, I cared about the outcome, I thought the characters were interesting, it was a nice length, and it was fairly unique despite having many familiar to the genre elements. It was not groundbreaking and I felt that pretty much all of the twists / secrets coming to light weren't especially shocking. But that's completely fine by me because I still cared about the secrets and fully bought in to the ride I was on. Because it was done well!
