Haunting, beautiful, perfect in every way.

Oftentimes I get tired of stream-of-consciousness narration, but I did not grow weary of Else’s thoughts, even as they repeated themselves in increasing distraught cycles.

This text is a beautiful study of character, trauma, and the taxing effect of the patriarchal gaze on a woman’s psyche.
