I picked up this book for one of my book clubs, but unfortunately, it was quite slow and left me feeling more depressed than intrigued. It didn’t have the suspense or thrills I was expecting, especially with the horror elements I was hoping for. To be honest, I wouldn’t recommend it to others. With that being said, I’m glad it at least ended on a decent note.

Great storyline and very fast paced, everything I love from a good book.
I also think Karen does a really good job at depicting relationships. I enjoyed seeing how Niki and Sharon's relationship developed over time and the bond between Mia and Jacob made my heart melt. I'm always big on any story that manages to depict familial relationships in such a beautiful way but it's even more special in this case where the characters in these relationships are not related by blood, but bonded through genuine care and compassion for one another. My heart is warm
