I can’t give this book enough 5 star ratings. I could hardly put it down and, now that I’ve finished it I can imagine that it will be rummaging around my brain for quite some time. This one captures your heart, and does not let go. And then there is the, “OMG, I think I’m Ellie” self-reflection thing… not gonna say any more about that.

This was a beautiful story of resilience and love.
Julia returned home after a scandal to work with a little girl (Alice) who’s been living in the woods alone for several years. She is speechless and terrified. Julia puts her past behind her and helps the little girl.
Overall this book was so thought provoking and immersive the side characters were lovable and compelling.  I was slightly disappointed by the ending I felt like I needed a little more but a strong 4 stars for me x

This was a fascinating and challenging read. Some of the resolution in the end truly surprised me as well. The author is a great writer and did a fabulous job weaving the story together. I recommend, but with caution considering the trauma suffered by the child that you have to be ready to face.
