I generally always enjoy Kristin Hannah books.
And while this book was good, and I enjoyed it, it was missing that Hannah beauty that I crave when I open her books.
For some reason I just did not connect to these characters the way I often do.

This was my first time reading Kristin Hannah and I wasn’t impressed. The plot seemed undercooked and yet the book was overwritten. You could see the ‘happy’ ending coming a mile away. No character was fully developed and everyone had one single ‘challenge’ to overcome. The story, the writing and the characters were formulaic.

Literally could not stop reading this. One of the characters in this book had a story line that makes you think, with every page turn, I need to know more.

I feel like not a lot really happened in this book. The concept of wild children is crazy and sad, and that most of them never develop into "normal" people, I wonder if that really happens? I was really rooting for Julia and Alice, but I do feel like the plot just dragged.
