Kristin Hannah has a way of capturing my heart with each book. This book dives into the “wild children” and how trauma affects people. Each character has some type of trauma or event that plays a major role in their character development.
Julia and Ellie have to work through their issues from their childhood to help “Alice” overcome years of trauma and torture. Alice brings them back together and helps the be a family again.
I was rooting for Julia the whole time. She needed Alice just as much as Alice needed her! She was able to build her self confidence back up and believe in herself again.
I wish there was more exploration in the Olympic National Forest but overall this was a fantastic read.

Kristin Hannah is one of my favorite authors; her books are always written so well. I am immediately invested in the characters, and this book is no different.
